Case study

Usher Hall

The Usher Hall, one of the world’s outstanding concert halls and a landmark in the heart of Edinburgh, re-opened its doors in August (2009) after a major £30m refurbishment that included the installation of wall and ceiling mounted, Omikron LED low energy edge lit sign luminaires from P4’s Design Range.

The Hall, which has hosted some of the greatest concerts and events in the city for a century, is now equipped to become an even more important powerhouse of creativity and inspiration with improved customer service and facilities. The choice of P4 Omikron exit signs, by M&E Contractor Balfour Kilpatrick, underlines the commitment to high quality, reliable and aesthetically pleasing signs, fully compliant to European standards, for Edinburgh’s biggest arts organisation and the International Festival’s central venue.

The Omikron signs, used throughout the building, are powered by a central static inverter for both normal and emergency operation.
